Science: Glutamine and muscle mass

There are many studies on critically ill patients and supplemental glutamine. Those studies have shown maintenance of muscle mass and improved immune sytem. There are several studies that have also shown good effect on the gut. The topic for this article is though, to see if glutamine supplementation has a positive effect on body composition in healthy adults.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA is a disulfide molecule that contains two thiol groups (sulfur and hydrogen) and supplement companies claim it has an antioxidant property and increasing insulin sensitivity and also that it will give an increase in muscle cell volume.
